Daily Prayers

The five daily prayers are held in the Masjid.

The congregational salat (Iqama) is conducted at a fixed offset from the beginning of the salat times as distributed by the Masjid Committee at the beginning of each month:

  • - Fajr is held 30 minutes after start of waqt
  • - Dhuhr is held 15 minutes after start of waqt
  • - Asr is held 15 minutes after start of waqt
  • - Maghrib is held 5 minutes after start of waqt
  • - Isha is held 15 minutes after start of waqt

The Imam of Canberra Masjid, Shaykh Muhammad Swaiti, is present in the Masjid every day between Maghrib and 'Isha.
