The Imams Council of ACT (Imam Mohammed Swaiti, Imam Nourredine Laraibi via phone and Imam Adama Konda) have met after Maghrib today at the Canberra Mosque and have declared that Eid-ul-Fitr 1437 AH will be Wednesday, 6 July 2016, Inshallah. Salat-ul-Eid at Canberra Mosque will be at 7:30am for an 8:00am start. Eid Mubarak. The Islamic Society of ACT (ISACT) recommends you attend the ‘Eid Musallah at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS Arena, Leverrier St, Bruce) with salaah starting at 8.30am sharp, organised by the Islamic Society of Belconnen (ISB). The INDOOR AIS Arena arrangements offer ample praying space and parking options with easy access. Click on the attached ISB flyer for details including directions. Alternatively, you may offer your salaah at the Canberra Masjid (130 Empire Cct, Yarralumla) starting at 8am sharp. Click on the attached flyer for details. Due to logistical reasons and with rain forecasted, arrangements at the masjid are limited. Taraweeh prayers are be held following ‘Isha’ prayers at 7.00pm every night during Ramadhan. Qari Saad Nasser al-Qudair from Saudi Arabia will be leading Taraweeh every night throughout Ramadhan inShaa’Allaah. He also holds Qur’aan classes for children after Taraweeh everyday. Tahajjud/Qiyaam-ul-Layl salaah is also held every night at 4am. Therefore, Taraweeh prayers will start tonight straight after ‘Isha’ at 7:00pm. Date: From Wednesday, 2 March 2016 (every Wednesday) Br Mekki Hashim will be conducting an interactive Arabic class for beginners. The classes will be followig a set syllabus based on the Madinah Arabic reader. All required textbooks and workbooks will be provided at no cost. Salat-ul-‘Eid at the Canberra Mosque (130 Empire Cct Yarralumla) will be at 7:30am for an 8:00am start. Please be mindful that the masjid has limited parking options and indoor capacity. Furthermore, strictly do not park on the neighbours’ lawns or block their driveways please and encroach upon their rights on you. We thank you for your past and ongoing cooperation in this matter.
