New Qur’aan class every Wednesday

Sh Abu Mous’ab will be conducting interactive Qur’aan class every Wednesday.  The classes will focus on reading, memorising and understanding the ayaat of the Qur’aan.
The classes are suitable for brothers and sisters inShaa’Allaah with the utilisation of the multimedia facilities at the masjid.

No registrations are necessary.

Ahadeeth daily after Fajr and ‘Ishaa’ salaah

Brief ahadeeth sessions are being held daily after fajr and ‘ishaa’ jama’ah at the masjid.

Brief matters from Kitaab-at-Tawheed by Imaam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhabb after fajr every morning.

Ahadeeth from al-Adab al-Mufrad (Perfection of Character) by Imaam al-Bukhaaree and the explanations after ‘ishaa’ every night.

‘Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrations @ Masjid CBR – ALSO SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

The ‘Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations will inShaa’Allaah again be held at Canberra Masjid 130 Empire Cct Yarralumla this year on Sun 10 July 2016. Click on the attached flyer for details.

VOLUNTEERS ARE KINDLY SOUGHT TO ASSIST PLEASE. ANY DONATIONS AND OTHER OFFERS OF ASSISTANCE ARE MOST WELCOME. Please contact one of the Society members.

For those attending the celebrations at the masjid, please park legally and strictly do not park on neighbours’ yards or block their driveways and encroach upon the neighbours’ rights. Parking volunteers will monitor the parking for any non-compliance and will pursue further. We thank you for your usual cooperation and understanding.

Taraweeh Prayers & Other Programs during Ramadhan

Taraweeh prayers are be held following ‘Isha’ prayers at 7.00pm every night during Ramadhan.

Qari Saad Nasser al-Qudair from Saudi Arabia will be leading Taraweeh every night throughout Ramadhan inShaa’Allaah. He also holds Qur’aan classes for children after Taraweeh everyday.

Sh Furqan Jabbar also holds tafseer classes after Taraweeh, attempting to briefly summarise the verses recited during the Taraweeh.

Tahajjud/Qiyaam-ul-Layl salaah is also held every night at 4am.

Start of Ramadan 1437 AH – Monday, 6 June 2016

The Imams Council of ACT (Imam Mohammed Swaiti, Imam Nourredine Laraibi and Imam Adama Konda) have met after Maghrib today at the Canberra Masjid and have declared that fasting for Ramadan 1437 AH will start on Monday, 6 June 2016 inShaaAllaah. Therefore, Taraweeh prayers will start tonight straight after ‘Isha’ at 7:00pm.

Arabic Classes for Beginners

Br Mekki Hashim will be conducting an interactive Arabic class for beginners.  The classes will be followig a set syllabus based on the Madinah Arabic reader.  All required textbooks and workbooks will be provided at no cost.
